  • Sylvi offers a variety of features to enhance your language learning experience.

    Tutor: Sylvi is your tutor, tailored to your learning level. You can ask questions about words, grammar, conjugations & more - Sylvi’s there to help. Our pre-built lessons are going through a revamp and will be back soon!

    Penpal: Speak with or text your AI penpal in the language you're learning and get corrections. Once you've earned enough gems, you can unlock different penpal personalities.

    Social Chat: Connect with fellow learners, whether they’re friends or other members of the Sylvi community. Your messages are checked before sending, so no one will see your mistakes!

    News: Read articles in the language you're learning (and topics you’re interested in) and test your understanding of the headline's meaning. Hold down the article to translate it or press to read it in full.

    My Words: Save and review words you want to practice.

    Daily Challenges: Complete tasks such as sending a specific number of messages to your penpal or translating news headlines. Each challenge you complete earns you gems, helping you progress and unlock more features.

    Leaderboard: See how you rank against other Sylvi learners with both monthly and all-time leaderboards.

  • Sylvi currently offers French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Portuguese. We’re constantly expanding these, so if there’s a language you’d like to see, let us know! Just click on the profile icon (top right) to send us feedback. Languages with the most requests will be prioritised.

  • Flames🔥This tracks your streak - the number of consecutive days you've used the app. Keep practicing to grow your streak!

    Points 🥐🥘🍺🍕🍷 These points are based on the language you're learning. For example, if you're learning Spanish, you’ll earn paellas. You can earn points by sending messages, with longer messages earning more points! You’ll also earn points for using the tutor and translating news articles.

    Gems💎These are your in-app currency! You can earn gems by maintaining your streak, completing daily challenges, and mastering words. Spend your gems on streak freezes or unlock new penpal personalities. Additional uses for gems are coming soon - stay tuned!

  • You can connect and chat with your friends through the Social Chat feature. Simply click Explore, then add friends by their username or from your contacts. And don’t worry - you don’t have to be practicing the same language to chat!

  • To change the language you’re learning, go to the Home Page, select Edit Profile, and choose your desired language from the “I’m learning” dropdown menu.

  • To turn on notifications, go to your device’s Settings, find the Sylvi app, select Notifications, and toggle them on.

  • iOS: To use the correct keyboard, go to your device’s Settings and go to the Keyboard settings. Tap Add Keyboard and add your language. To switch keyboards in Sylvi (or other apps), hold down the globe icon at the bottom left of your keyboard and choose your language.

    Android: To use the correct keyboard, go to your device’s Settings and go to Keyboard list and default. Tap Samsung keyboard settings, then Languages and types, then Manage input languages to add your language. To switch keyboards in Sylvi (or other apps), hold down the space bar and choose your language.

  • Pricing varies based on subscription length - check the app for details.

  • If you can’t access your account, try resetting your password by clicking the “Forgot Password” button on the login page. Still having trouble? Email us at support@sylvi.ai, and our team will assist you as soon as possible.

  • We’re sorry you’re experiencing issues! Please ensure you've granted permission for the microphone to be used in the Sylvi app, and make sure your phone isn't connected to distant speakers or headphones via Bluetooth. If the issue persists, please contact us at support@sylvi.ai. In the meantime, try exiting and reopening the app to see if that resolves it.

  • Oh no, we’re sorry you're experiencing issues! Please email us at support@sylvi.com and we’ll work on resolving the glitch as quickly as possible.

  • We offer a free trial for new subscriptions. You can cancel anytime during the trial at no charge. No payment is processed until the trial ends - please check your bank statement and for a receipt from Apple or Google before assuming you've been charged. After the trial period, refunds are not available.

  • iOS: To cancel or change your subscription, open the App Store and tap the profile icon in the top right corner. Then select Subscriptions and find the relevant subscription. You can cancel here, or tap See all plans to choose the plan you'd like to switch to, and confirm the change.

    Android: To change your subscription, open the Google Play Store and tap the profile icon. Go to Payments & subscriptions and select Subscriptions and find the relevant subscription. You can cancel here, or tap Change plan or Manage to choose the plan you'd like to switch to, and confirm the change.

    Please note we cannot cancel the subscription on your behalf, and deleting your account does not cancel your subscription.

  • If you cancel your subscription but don't delete your account, you can return at any time and log back in. Your profile and points will be saved.
